• Mine Boundary Change
The following well nests are located within the vacated areas:
* Section 35: 132, 133
* Section 26: 134, 137, 138, 162, 163, 171, 172, 173, 174
The location of these wells can be seen on Figure 3.
Coors Energy Company (CEC) understands that although section 36 and 25 have never been
disturbed by mining or ash disposal, the aforementioned property was disturbed while gathering
baseline ground water data. Further, we understand the need for baseline information, that the
Division has requested.
CEC will provide the Division with this information through an agreement with Waste Services
Company (WSC). See transfer of engineering data pursuant to the Agreement, dated July 8, 1993
(page 63). The baseline information will be procured from the East Weld Sanitary Landfill
(EWSL) monitoring and analysis wells, located to the west of the mine permit boundary.
Accordingly, CEC will provide the Division with the following:
* Drawing of Monitoring Well Locations. (Plate 14)
* Piezometric Surface Map. (Plate 9)
* Within ninety (90) days The Division will be provided, with present baseline data from
existing wells in the EWSL permit area.
* In addition, two years of baseline data from Monitoring Wells: 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 will be
provided. NOTE, these Wells will be the first Wells completed prior to landfill
construction. However, completion dates for these Wells aze unknown at this time. When
wells I, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 are completed and baseline data monitoring is possible, CEC will
apply for a Minor Revision to permanently seal wells: 132, 133, 134, 137, 138, 162, 163,
171, 172, 173, 174. The sealing procedure will follow the Divisions Regulations 4.07.3
(Permanent Sealing).
After the Wells are permanently sealed and the Division has approved the sites, CEC will start
Performance Bond Release (the Division Regulation 3.03.1) procedures for Sections 35 and 26.
There will be no change to the Hydrology Description and renewal 5/91 (Section 2.04.7). In
addition, the current ground water monitoring program will continue; i.e.; quarterly monitoring of
DH-96, DH-122 (Ennis Draw), SMW-2 (Spoil area), AMW-1 and 2 (Ash Disposal down
• gradient) and FPW (Fire Protection Well).
60
