Y
!7 ~~
~~ ~~
. TUTTLE APPLEGATE RINDAHL, INC.
Consultants for Land and Resource Development
Mr. Michael Boyd
Mined Land Reclamation Division
August 16, 1989
Page 3
3. Sediment and Siltation Structures - As per hydrology/erosion
control (see above) sedimentation basins will be constructed
at each drainage outlet point from the proposed mining
areas. Each sedimentation basin will be designed to retain
a two-year storm event. These siltation areas will be ~
maintained by excavation and regrading as they begin to fill /
up with sediment. At the conclusion of mining the sediment
basins will be used for small stock ponds to enhance the
post-mining utility of the property as rangeland.
4. Phase III Mining Area Drainage Outlet - An additional
drainage outlet area has been added to the preliminary ,k~
drainage plan and reclamation plan (Exhibit F) at the
northern most point of the Phase III mining area. Thank you
for your comment.
5. We are agreeable to include several permanent stock ponds in
our final reclamation plan. We think the sediment ponds for °j
erosion control will be suitable far these stock ponds.
6. We are agreeable to include Snowberry and Fringed Sage in ~
our proposed seed mix. ~
7. We are agreeable to redistributing a 12 inch layer of L
material which will include topsoil, B horizon and C horizon °i
overburden material.
Water Information (Exhibit G)
1. Haul Crossing of Willow Creek - Please find enclosed
drainage information regarding Willow Creek. This
information includes a CUHP runoff analysis for the Willow
Creek basin encompassing approximately 2.88 square miles
tributary to the crossing point. Also included are
hydraulic calcs for culvert sizing indicating that triple 30
inch diameter CMP culverts at 3~ slope or double 36 inch
diameter CMP culverts at 2-1/2~ slope are adequate to convey
the irivey_ypar one hour storm event peak flows without ~/
overtopping.
a
