SUNLAND MINING CORPORATION
SUBSIDENCE CONTROL PLAN
MINEABLE COAL BEDS
Sunland Mining Corporation's mining plan calls for the mining of
3 seams by underground mining methods under its federal lease properties
in Routt County, Colorado. Exhibit 7 is an electric log which shows the
3 seams to be mined. The electric log is from Drill Bole SL-22, the location
of which is Sn the northeast corner of the leased area and is shown on Map
Exhibit II. Exhibit II also shows the areas for each of the 3 seams where
underground mining is planned. The mining areas are divided by faults which
complicate the mining of the coal reserves. The fault blocks are also shown
on the map.
The uppermost seam to be mined, named the Upper Bench of Zone 3,
' will be mined in fault block 3 only. It ranges in depth from outcropping
in the southeastern part of the leased area to a depth of approximately 265
feet in the northwestern corner. Minimum cover at the projected recovery
line near the outcrop is about 80 feet. The thickness to be mined ranges
from 48 inches to approximately 84 inches.
Approximately 200 feet below the zone 3 upper bed is the Upper Pinnacle
seam, also to be mined only in fault block 3. The thickness of this bed in.
tiie planned mining area ranges from 48 inches to approximately 52 inches.
Another 40 feet below the Upper Pinnacle lies the Lower Pinnacle seam,
Cthe third seam to be mined, The Lower Pinnacle is the seam which has been
mined in the past on this property. The area [hat has been mined out is shown
on lfap Exhibit II. Ii is planned to mine tlic T.owcr Pinnacle primarily in
fault blocks 2 and 3 and a minimal amount in fault block 1: Tl~e thickness of
the coal bed in the area where mining is planned, ranges frum 48 incTies to
approximately 60 inches. The lowest elevation to he reached in the mining
of the 3 seams is approximately 7150 feet in the Lower Pinnacle scam.

r9s
D. H. EMLING COMPANY
