• OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this project are to determine (1) the status of
current populations of wintering bald eagles, and (2) essential factors
and critical habitat necessary for wintering bald eagles on BLM lands
in Colorado.
This involves location of current, historic and potential use areas,
determination of arrival and departure dates. and recording any f]uc-
tuations in densities. age structure and locations throughout the
winter. Also important to critical habitat determination are obser-
vations of food habits. hunting behavior and reaction to disturbances.
