PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED <br />• The North Fork Valley above Paonia can not be flown safely in a fixed- <br />wing aircraft. Funds for helicopter time were limited in the first <br />field season so the section upstream from Paonia was never flown. The <br />seasonal movements noted by Dave Kenvin could not be quantified in the <br />single flight made over this area in 1980, Even in a helicopter, the <br />large number of low level powerlines make flights down side drainages <br />risky. <br />UPCOMING PROJECTS <br />The North Fork Valley harbors an extensive coal deposit. Development <br />of this resource is an ongoing process. Development of riparian areas <br />is also continuous.
