A natural crown aln~ the west side of
the site. on t~ shoulder of Fourmile i;oaC, should prevent
overhead water from Fourmile Road from draining into the
site, which if it occurs would result in ero=_ion. This
situ.a.tivn should be monitored to ma.1::a sure this sediment
movement does npt occ~lr--some type of diversion structure
should be installed if this problem occr_rrs.
Final cutslop?s should be lent in the range of 4 to 1, with
none steeper- than 3 to 1--o±herwise r~il l ing can occ~_lr dr_le to
the steep slopes preventing the quic4:: establishment of
vege*_ative cover. Most of the area. car. probably be graded
flat er~dugh tv pre•~ent the need for erosion control
blan4.;ets, but a suitable mulch material (grass hay and the
liken should ne incorporated into the upper surface of the
soil to prevent wind and water erosion.
The rates of mulch and fertilizer, as well as the type of
grass species to be planted are included as attachments to
this plan. The seeding min: with Western wheatgrass and
Sheep fescue is preferred as these are well adapted native
grasses: the other seeding mi:: comprises mainly introduced
species which will provide a somewhat quic4::er ground cover
at an economical cost. The use of forb=_ for wildlife and
aesthetic p~_lrposes is encouraged and is included on the
EC5-°~.
