Imo. Jeff Deckler
August 15, 1985 revised
December 8, 1986
Page Two
deemed effective. 2) WFC believes it is necessary to use field judgement
in repair of rills or gullies. It is our belief that most of the repair
will have to be done by hand unless significant problems develop.
Ekcessive erosion will require the use of heavy equipnent, however in most
instances a rake and or Shovel along with hand mulching and' reseeding
should take care of any problems. In the event that a natural water course
segms to be developing, which would require annual maintenance, WFC would
propose to stabilize these areas with rip+rap and keep them as a'pezmanent
structure in the post mining reclamation plan. Approval of such a
permanent structure will be approved by the Division on a case by case
basis.
WFC understands excessive tilling and gullying- means arty rill or gully
deeper than 9 inches on reclaimed land or rills~dr gullies of lesser depth
where the rills or gullies prohibit successful revegetation or are
disruptive to the approved mining land use or may result in excessive
erosion or sedimentation.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
David M.
