Structure Demolition. This estimate assumes that all structures within the Yoast Mine area would have •
to be demolished and materials disposed. It also assumes that no salvage value be attached to any of
the structures. Means Site Work and Landscape Cost Data - 1998, was used to estimate these costs.
Volume determinations were made from existing maps and/or field measured. The cost per cubic foot
includes disposal. Most costs, except where noted, were based on a mixture of construction
materials. All material is hauled to an open pit. All information regarding structure volumes and costs
can be found in Attachment 25-1.
Powerlines. Powerline demolition was based on information published in Means. Powerline lengths
were taken from Exhibit 12-1. Total length of line that traverses the permit area is 3.0 miles. Please
see the appropriate worksheet for costs in Attachment 25-t.
Facility Areas. After the buildings are demolished and disposed, the site is reclaimed. The top one
foot of gravel/scoria surfacing on the parking/storage areas will be ripped with a dozer than then
picked up and hauled to the pit area where it will be topsoiled and seeded. The entire parking area will
be ripped to a depth of three feet. Approximately one foot of topsoil from the topsoil stockpiles will
then be hauled by scraper to the ripped parking area.
Miscellaneous Utilities. Underground utility reclamation, including phone lines, water lines, and •
powerlines, will be abandoned in place.
Sediment Ponds. Six sediment pond will be in place by the end of 2004 (Ponds 010, 011, 011a, 012,
013, and 0141. Location of the impoundments can be found on Exhibit 12-1. The embankment
volume was taken from proposed and typical designs as shown in Chapter 13. The embankment
material and sediment accumulated from the ponds would be dozed into the surrounding area to
reestablish the drainage. Please refer to worksheet for calculations.
Road Reclamation. The three types of roads requiring reclamation within the mine site are haul roads
that are to be totally reclaimed, light-use roads that are to be totally reclaimed, and roads that are
presently haul roads but will be left for the postmine landowner and must be narrowed. There are
approximately 4.7 miles of haul roads that will be totally reclaimed, 4.0 miles of light-use roads that
will be totally reclaimed, and 4.2 miles of haul roads that will be downsized for postmine landowner
use.
•
TR-25 5 Revised 09/04
