Description: The project lies south of the North Fork of the Gunnison River, Highway 133 just west of a <br />bridge that crosses the river. The beginning of the access road is close to Mile Marker 21 of Highway 133. <br />The proposed access road runs east-southeast from the Highway 133 following a previously disturbed path <br />for approximately 1100 feet. Then in a large disturbed clearing the proposed road turns southwest for <br />another 1000 feet to the EEE drill location. <br />I5. Legal Location: Quad. General Topographic Setting: The project area lies on the Western slope of the Southern Rocky <br />Mountains immediately south of the North Fork of the Gunnison River. The project area lies on the north <br />slope of a large north south trending ridge. <br />Current Land Use: Mining <br />19. Flora: Vegetation consisted of dense scrub oak, grasses, and forbs with occasional aspens and conifers. <br />20. Soils/Geology: The soils are colluvial silty loam with abundant angular rocks. Bedrock is sandstone and <br />shale of the Mesaverde Group, undivided. <br />21. Ground Visibility: Ground visibility was poor (0-20%) overall. Some areas were completely covered with <br />scrub oak and grasses providing no visibility. In the disturbed areas visibility was quite good (60-75%). <br />22. Comments: <br />V.
