r
6. Please revise the revegetation section to state that at least one of the soil preparation methods
indicated will be used, prior to seeding. Dragging is not acceptable as one of these methods.
7. Please provide a copy of any comments from the Colorado Division of Wildlife concerning this
proposed operation.
8. The seeding plan appears to be acceptable. However, it is recommended that the seed be
applied by drilling and that the Indian ricegrass be planted to a two inch depth.
9. The site description indicates that groundwater is 15 feet below the ground surface, but the
application maps indicate the water level is approximately 6 feet below ground surface.
Please correct this discrepancy, and ensure that the mining and reclamation plans are
consistent with the true groundwater elevation.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology,
Durango Field Office, 484 Turner Drive, Building F, Suite 101, Durango, CO 81301, phone no.
970-247-5062.
Sincerely,
Steve S. Shuey
Environmental Protect~o pecialist
