All
surface facilities located on the Williams Fork River alluvial valley floor in association with the No. 5 and No. 6
mines will be reclaimed. The area will be reclaimed to Flood irrigated hayfields. Sloped areas, such as the No. 5
portal faceup, will be returned to the rangeland/wildlife habitat.
A complete discussion of the Yampa and Williams Fork Rivers Alluvial Floors aze included in the following sections:
2.06.8 -Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation on Areas or Adjacent to Areas Including Alluvial
Valley Floors
• 2.05 -Minimum Requirements for Operation and Reclamation Plan
• 2.04.7 -Hydrology Information
If, in future five-(5) year mine permit submittals, full extraction mining is anticipated under either the Yampa or
Williams Fork River Alluvial Valley Floors, information concerning the impacts of these proposed mining operations
will be included in those submittals.
4.25 OPERATIONS ON PRIME FARMLANDS
As described in Section 2.04.12, Prime Farmland Investigation, CEC has researched historical land use information
and evaluated data on soil resources in the permit area. The results of this investigation indicate that no areas, which
could be classified as prime farmland, exist within the areas to be disturbed by CEC. Accordingly, CEC has
requested a negative determination for all areas to be disturbed within the permit boundary as lands having value as
prime farmland. Based upon this request for a negative determination, the performance standards of this section are
not applicable.
CEC does not plan any surface coal mining activities; therefore, this section of the performance standards is not
applicable.
CEC does not plan any surface coal mining activities; therefore, this section of the performance standards is not
applicable.
4 28 COAL PROCESSING PLANTC AND SUPPORT FACILITIES NOT LOCATED AT OR NEAR THE MINE
[ . OR NOT WITHIN THF. P . MTT AREA FOR THE MINE
As noted in Section 2.05.3, Operation Plan -Permit Area, all active coal handling and support facilities related to the
Eagle Mines will be located within the planned permit area. The location of these facilities are shown on the
Structures and Renewable Resources Map (Map 25). Since no coal handling or support facilities associated with the
CEC operations will be located outside the permit boundaries, this section is not applicable.
CEC has no plans to conduct any in situ mining or processing in conjunction with the mining operations. Therefore,
this section of the performance standards is not applicable.
Permit Renewal No. 3 4.01-14 7/15/98
