Create new open space/wildlife preserve areas.
Create a sealed water storage reservoir.
4. Utilize and slightly expand an existing industrial use area, and return this area to industrial
uses upon completion of all of the mining and removal of the plant site facilities.
Except for Phase 1B, mining areas of Parcel B, reclamation will proceed in roughly the same phases
as mining. Sloopes will be excavated temporarily to '/ H (Horizontal) to 1 V (Vertical). Final slopes
will be reclaimed with overburden, waste soil materials, and sand spoils to create stable 3H:1 V slopes
from ground level to the depth of the excavation Backfilling will occur concurrently with mining,
grading will be uniform and continuous and performed in such a manner as to create stable slopes and
minimize erosion.
Although mining and reclamation is always dependent upon market demand, a time table for the
reclamation for each phase is as follows based on a total life of the mining operation of 10+ years,
and 14+ years to complete all reclamation. ~ i~fe.~y ary /, ~,,,,
Reclamation ~ -- ~ "'v~""
Year Phase Relation to Minine Phases and Reclamation Activities
Reclamation
1-4 Phase 1 Mining of the Phase lA mining area will be initiated within 6 months after all
approvals are obtained, and should involve less than 6 months to complete.
The area will be part of Reclamation Phase 1. All backfilling, sloping, and
replacement of 6-12"+ topsoil should take place within 1 year of when mining
is initiated. Disturbed areas not proposed as wetlands will be revegetated with /
non-irrigated grasses as outlined on page 6. Proposed wetland areas will be ~°
revegetated in accordance with recommendations to be provided by the ~ //~
consultant on wetlands.
