i~

Mining Phase
Year or Activity DescriQtion of Mining and Other Disturbance Activities
Phase 2-4
1 Slurry Wall The final activity during the first year will be installation of the slurry wall for
the Cooley Reservoir. This slurry wall will either encompass the entire Cooley
Reservoir area by crossing the PSCo. right-of--way in two places, or be
installed around the azea south of the PSCo. right-of--way. The proposed
slurry wall setbacks are l0' from any property line, except along the S. Platte
River side. In this area, starting at McKay Road, the slurry wall will be
setback a minimum of 75' from the bank along the River, then be located 10'
west of the easement being conveyed to Adams County for trail construction,
then be located 10' west ofthe Sinclair gasoline pipeline. Prior to excavation
being undertaken, this pipeline and west easement line of the trail will be
located in the field to insure these slurry wall setbacks are followed.
Calculations on the lineal footage of slurry wall are included on Exhibit C-2,
Mining Plan Map.
Mining
2-3 Phase 2- Phase 2 mines 50+ acres over a 2± year period and includes Parcel D-1 and
part of Parcel D-2. This 50± acres does not include acreage within the low
Flow channel of the S. Platte River east of the proposed Adams County trail
easement area. It does include, however, some area within 400' of the S.
Platte River channel approximately 100' from S. Platte River channel along the
southern boundary of Parcel D-2. The mining does include construction of
a ditch along McKay Road to convey imgation tail and drainage water to the
S. Platte River to replace the ditch that presently crosses along the boundary
of Phase 2 and Phase 3. As mining within 400' of the S. Platte River channel
requires approval by UD&FCD and agreement on what S. Platte River
channel improvements should be installed as a condition of approval, no
mining will occur without such approval and agreement. This 400' area and
the proposed 100' mining setback area is shown on Exhibit C-2, Mining Plan
Map.
5
