<br />All cast iron fittings shall be manufacutred in accordance with the following <br />AWWA Standards: C 110, "Gray-Iron and Ductile-Iron Fittings, 3-inch • <br />through 48-inch for Water and Other Liquids", C 111, "Rubber-Gasket Joints <br />for Cast-Iron and Ductile-Iron Pressure Pipe and Fittings", with the fol- <br />lowing additional requirements or exceptions. <br />B. Type of Joint <br />The joints shall be pushron bell and spigot joints with rubber gaskets. All <br />joints shall be pressure rated. <br />C. Thickness Class <br />All fittings shall be of Class 52 rating. <br />D. Material <br />All fittings shall be made from ductile iron. <br />1 r <br />2.04 Concrete Pipe <br />A. General <br />All concrete pipe and connections are to conform to the following standards: <br />ASTM C-76 for Class III and IV Pipe, ASTM C-443 for joints and ASTM C- <br />655 for D-load Design. <br />B. Size of Pipe <br />All pipe shall be as follows: <br />12 inch Class IV <br />18 inch Class III <br />where indicated on the Drawings. <br />C. Joint Type <br />All joints shall be pushron joint with bell and spigot fittings and a rubber O- <br />ring. <br />2.05 Earthwork <br />A. Reinforced Concrete Pipe <br />Reinforced concrete pipe within embankments is to be bedded on a Class A <br />bedding consisting of a concrete cradle having a minimum 28-day <br />compressive strength of 3000 psi conforming to the detail shown in the <br />Plans. This concrete cradle is to be underlain by 2 feet of Type 1 material <br />as specified in Section 02200 and compacted to 100% of Standard Proctor <br />Density. Backfill material is to consist of a minimum of 2 feet of Type 1 <br />material. <br /> <br />• <br />02520-3 <br />
