SECTION 02520 -DRAIN AND OUTLET PIPES <br />PART1-GENERAL <br />1.01 Description <br />This work shall consist of installing all pipes passing through embankments, con- <br />necting ponds, and all associated appurtenances in accordance with these Specifi- <br />cations and in reasonably close conformity to the lines and grades shown on the <br />Drawings or established by the Engineer. <br />1.02 Job Conditions <br />The Contractor shall abide by the "Rules and Regulations Governing Excavation <br />Work" of the Industrial Commission of Colorado. Additionaity, the Contractor shall <br />comply with the Colorao Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all OSM and <br />MSHA regulations as required. <br />1.03 Soils Investigation <br />Preliminary soil and subsurface investigations were conducted for the Owner at the <br />site, the results of which are included in the Drawing set. <br />• <br />A copy of this report is available for review at the office of the Engineer; however, <br />this report is not a part of the Contract and is solely for the convenience of the • <br />Contractor. It is expressly understood and agreed that the Owner and Engineer <br />assumes no responsibility whatsoever in respect to the sufficiency or accuracy of <br />the investigation thus made, the records thereof, or of the interpretations set forth <br />therein. <br />Availability or use of the report shall not be construed as a waiver of the Con- <br />tractor's responsibility to examine the site of the work, and the Contractor is <br />cautioned to make such independent investigations as he deems necessary to satisfy <br />himself as to the subsurface conditions to be encountered in the performance of the <br />work. <br />1.04 Clearing and Grubbing <br />The area in the vicinity of the pipe and appurtenances shall be cleared and grubbed <br />in accordance with Section 02102 of these Specifications and OSM regulations prior <br />to excavation. <br />1.05 Product Storage and Delivery <br />The Contractor shall unload, handle, stockpile and install materials in such a man- <br />ner as to prevent damage to materials. No damaged, broken or otherwise defective <br />materials may be used. <br /> <br />02520-1 <br />
