information is available from the ]ocal NRCS office or can be extracted from
a soils survey of the area where the proposed site is located.
(3) Item C under this section states there are no streams or creeks in the area of
the proposed operation, however, review of the application maps cleazly
identify a portion of Bonny Creek Hooting through the northwest part of the
proposed permit azea. Please revise this section to address this discrepancy
and comply with Rule 6.3.2(c). This will be discussed further under Exhibits
C&D.
6.3.3 EXHIBIT C -Mining Plan
(4) Please provide a seed mix for use on topsoil stockpiles that will not be
replaced immediately. Also, once sufficient information is submitted to
determine the estimated depth of topsoil available for reclamation, that depth
will need to be included under this section.
(5) As discussed under Exhibit B, Bonny Creek runs through the permit area.
What steps will be taken to minimize disturbance to the creek? Specifically,
will mining occur in the active channel and if so how will the stream gradient
be replaced once mining is completed? Also, what steps will be taken to
control sediment and/or storm water coming off of the site and possibly
entering into the creek?
(6) Please clarify iit writing and on the map the dimension and extent of the
proposed excavation and the location of any overburden or product stockpiles.
6.3.4 EXHIBIT D -Reclamation Plan
(7) How much topsoil will be salvaged and replaced (see #2)?
(8) The application states there are no ponds, streams or buildings which are
existing or will exist after reclamation, however, as previously discussed
Bonny Creek runs through the proposed permit area. How will the site be
reclaimed so this stretch of creek fits into the proposed post-mining
topography and remains functional with respect to properly conveying surface
water safely through this area?
6.3.5 EXHIBIT E -Map
(9) There aze numerous maps included with the application. All maps, with the
exception of the index map, must conform to the following criteria:
