....~~~.,~~ v-i~in~ng Tian
All mining presently .planned will be done underground. No surface
subsidence is expected because of the depth of operation or mining
method employed. No overburden removal will be required except for
minor amount"s required for surface plant as outlined below. The only
,,disturbed areas will be:
s
a) The Collar of the Ajax Shaft
b) The Portal of the C-7 Zone Decline
c) The Portal of the Carlton Tunnel.
d) The Carlton Mill Tailings Pond
e) The transportation corridor from the Ajax Mine to
C-7 area to the Carlton Mill.
112(2)(2)
Mining will take place at the Ajax Mine and the C-7 Zone adjacent
to the Cresson Mine (inoperative). The Carlton Tunnel will be utilized
for drainage and waste disposal. The Carlton Mill Tailings Pond
will store all tailings from the milling required to process Ajax and
C=7 Zone areas.,
a) Ajax Mine
The mine has been in existence for over 80 years. The dump
area around the collar of the Ajax Shaft has been disturbed for that
period. All new work will be done on that previously disturbed surface.
Cohfidential:
The Ajax ore body consists of a series of narrow veins or vein-like,
structures generally nearly vertical. in dip within a granite or breccia
mass.
The veins have been mined from the surface to various depths but
as far as the 3200 level in one area. Present plans include mining
on the 3100 and 3350 levels.
Waste rock hoisted from the mine will be added to the existing
waste dump to create more level surface plant area.
Ore that is hoisted from the mine will either be dumped into
surface storage bins and then hauled by truck to the Carlton Mi11 or
dumped directly onto the ground at the shaft collar and then loaded
into trucks for haulage to the mill by front-end loader. Prior to
completion of the Carlton Mill, any rock hoisted from the mine for
processing at the mill will be stockpiled at the mine on the dump
until the mill is ready.
No earth moving or stripping will be done as the entire surface
area to be used is old. dump rock..
...~~ ~~Q4362
