• Ditch D-D2
Ditch D-D2 is formed when the (low from ditch D-D I and ditch D-E I join below sediment
pond C. From the intersection of the Iwo flows the ditch becomes a V-Ditch (hat must be
capable of handling the combined (low from the two ditches (2 9G + 14.62) = 17.58 cfs.
The following information is generated from the use of the computer program Flaestad
Methods FlovvMastcr I version 3.43
The ditch side slopes are I .Sh: I v, Mannin6 s n = .03.
Ditch Flow Velocil_v
Flow cfs Grade Depth fps
17.58 2'% I.5 5.1
17.58 10"/o I.1 9.4
Construct Ditch D-2 hvo feel deep to allow for freeboard. Ditch D-D2 must be constructed at least 30" deep al the Iransilion behveen the
ditch and culvert.
Drainage Area E
Drainage area E is the upland area located above the haul road that provides access to the gob
pile. A berm will be constructed along the south side of the road to contain run-ofT to the site.
A single ditch will be constructed on the north side of the road to hmrdle the flow from drainage
area E.
