• <br />Section 815.2 <br />(b) Prevent degradation of environmental quality during and following <br />the conduct of coal exploration. <br />Kerr Coal will prevent degradation of environmental quality during <br />and following the conduct of coal exploration as discussed below <br />and in Parts 744 and 776. <br />Section 815.11 General responsiblity of persons conducting coal <br />exploration. <br />• <br />(a) Each person who conducts coal exploration which substantially dis- <br />turbs the natural land surface and in which 250 tons or less of coal are <br />removed shall file the notice of intention to explore required under 30 <br />CFR 776.11 and shall comply with Section 815.15 of this Part. <br />Kerr Coal plans to conduct coal exploration which may affect the <br />natural land surface and during which less than 250 tons of coal <br />will be removed. Kerr Coal, under Section 776.11 of this applica- <br />tion, has notified the regulatory authority of its intent to con- <br />duct such coal exploration and will comply with the provisions of <br />30 CFR 815.15. <br /> <br />(b) Each person who conducts coal exploration which substantially dis- <br />turbs the natural land surface and in which more than 250 tons of coal <br />are removed in the area described by the written approval from the <br />regulatory authority, shall comply with the procedures described in the <br />exploration and reclamation operations plan approved under 30 CFR 776.12 <br />and shall comply with Section 815.15 of this Part. <br />815-2 <br />
