' ERHIBIT E (Cont'd)
no drill holes or auger holes remaining and has no addit:> or
' shafts.
' There are to be no earth dams.
No toxic or acid-forming material cvill be encountered or
' used in the operation.
All refuse will be disposed of by either hauling it away
' or by properly burying it in the backfill areas so that
' unsightliness and deleterious effects will be controlled.
In those areas where revegetation is part of the re-
' clamation plan, land will be revegetated in such a way a:. to
establish a diverse, effective, and long-lasting vegetative
' cover that is capable of self-regeneration and at least equal
' in extent of cover to the natural vegetation of the surrounding
area. Refer to the revegetation program later in this E~:hibit
E for details.
Overburden and soil removal and storage are discussed
' in Exhibit D. The non-soil overburden stored for each si:age
' of mining will be returned to the mined area when the re-~
clamation phase starts. It will be used as backfill and
' slope fill material. Soils will be used to cover areas i:o
be revegetated to a depth of at least 6 inches.
t The operator's intention is to minimize disturbances to
the prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land arcd of
the surrounding area and to the quality and quantity of water
in surface and ground water systems during and after re-
clamation. Valco believes it is in compliance with Federal
' 13
