11
intermittent is approximately 1000 $ to the southeast. Vegetation cover consisting of native
sagebrush mixed with grasses and forbs. This azea also contains additional outcropping cobbles,
but the IF is the only one which is altered. The Bound has probably been plowed in the past.
SRT2017 is a small unifacially retouched end scraper of a poor quality dazk brown chert. The
material is flaky with numerous faults and a thin surface layer of high quality chert: The IF is
located on the southern cutback of a very small unnamed intermittent tributary to Fish Greek.
Fish Creek is approximately 1.5 miles to the southeast. Agricultural fields are located along both
sides of this small drainage. The surrounding terrain is low rolling hills covered with tall grasses.
The azea has probably been cultivated in the past and is utilized for cattle grazing at various
times.
No additional work is recommended for these isolated. finds since they aze all considered non
significant resources.
Evaluation of Research and Management Recommendations
The previously recorded SRT157 was recommended as need data by previous investigators
because a portion of this site contains intact soil deposits. Results of limited testing in this azea
were negative. Since the screening of subsurface deposits failed to recover buried artifacts and
• only two surface artifacts were observed on the surface, it is recommended that the site be
evaluated as not eligible for the National Register.
A portion of SRT157 is within the APE for the proposed bleeder shag. Since SRT157 is
recommended as not eligible, no further work is also recommended. Three isolated finds
{SRT2014, SRT2015 and SRT2016) aze located along the northern portion of WM-SM-03 and
isolate SRT2017 is near the southern end of WM-SM-06. All isolated finds are inherently not
eligible for the National Register and no further work is recommended for these seismic lines.
No significant cultural material was discovered with the current project azea. Cultural
resource cleazance for recommended for the entire project as depicted in Figures 1, 2 and 3.
•
