Preventive Maintenance <br />All stormwater control systems (ditches, culverts, berms, revegetated areas, graveled areas, <br />etc.) are inspected at least twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, by the <br />Environmental Engineer. Inspection reports are to identify any work required to maintain <br />and preserve the integrity and service capacities of the stormwater control system. A <br />schedule of preventive maintenance activities is: <br />DEFICIENCY ~ SCHEDULE OF CORRECTIVE ACTION <br />Items that reduce the efficiency of the Corrected within two weeks of discovery <br />system <br />(debris in ditches, culverts, etc.) <br />Deterioration of system components Areas to be re-gravelled: six months <br /> Areas to be re-seeded: next optimum plant- <br /> ing season <br />Failure of system components (wash- Temporary action to arrest progressive ero- <br />outs, etc), or development of new point Sion within one week of discovery. Perma- <br />erosion sources Went corrective action to be identified within <br /> one week, necessary supplies ordered within <br /> two weeks, and restoration work scheduled <br /> within four weeks of materials availability <br />d. Good Housekeeping <br />The mine premises are to be kept clean and orderly, and is a general responsibility of the <br />Surface Facilities Forman. There are varying levels of activity at the exemption sites, and <br />waste, trash and rubbish is brought to collection containers within the operational permitted <br />facilities as it might be generated. <br />e. Spill Prevention Response Procedures <br />The Corporate Spill Prevention Plan is in effect at the facility (a part of Permit C81-012), <br />and by reference, part of this SWMP.
