west and south sides. Two interior walls that once divided
~''• the structure into three equal storage areas have also been
removed. The structure is presently used for equipment
storage by Public Service Company. The site lacks integrity
of association and is field evaluated as not eligible for
listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
Site 5ME7021 is a cement walled structure that was once
used as a primer storage facility for explosives. Its overall
dimensions are 10.25 feet long by 6.0 feet wide by 7.6 feet
high. The walls are 6 inches thick. The dimensions include a
3 foot wide entry. It has a pitched roof and a metal door on
the south wall. The site does not meet National Register
criteria and is field evaluated as not eligible.
New construction will destroy these sites. No further
work concerning the recording of the structure is recommended.
Accordingly, cultural resource clearance is recommended for
the project.
References
Husband, Michael B.
1984 Colorado Plateau Country Historic Context.
