Peerless Resources, Inc. limited the 5-foot contour interval to this area because showing 5-foot contours on the steep side slopes of Coal Gulch would only create confusion and clutter the map with too many • lines thus making the map difficult to use. In addition, this Postmining Topography Map (Map 14) is of the same scale as the Facilities Map (Map 12) and the Pre-Mining Topography Map (Map 10). 3. The applicant shall provide the Division with cross sections of the ex RESPONSE: Peerless Resources, Inc. had previously provided the Division with pre-mining and postmining cross sections within the permit application. These cross sections are set forth as the Pre-Mining and Postmining Cross Sections (Map 15). In light of the recent work, Peerless Resources, Inc. has revised these cross sections and included copies for inclusion within the permit application. 4. The applicant implies that the portal complexes, office and shop structures, and coal crushing and handling facilities may be left • after the closure of the mine.
