The a licant needs to rovide re-minin and ost-mini <br />to o ra is ma s wit contour interva s o a maximum o ive ee <br />T ese maps a itionaT yT sFouTd a at t e same scare as t <br />facilities area ma <br />RESPONSE: <br />Peerless Resources, Inc. has revised both the Postmining Topography Map <br />(Map 14) and the Pre-Mining Topography Map (Map 10) to show contours on <br />a 5-foot interval within the area of previous mining disturbance. <br />Peerless Resources, Inc. limited the 5-foot contour interval to this <br />area because showing 5-foot contours on the steep side slopes of Coal <br />Gulch would only create confusion and clutter the map with too many <br />• lines thus making the map difficult to use. In addition, this <br />Postmining Topography Map (Map 14) is of the same scale as the <br />Facilities Map (Map 12) and the Pre-Mining Topography Map (Map 10). <br />3. The applicant shall provide the Division with cross sections of the <br />ex <br />RESPONSE: <br />Peerless Resources, Inc. had previously provided the Division with <br />pre-mining and postmining cross sections within the permit application. <br />These cross sections are set forth as the Pre-Mining and Postmining <br />Cross Sections (Map 15). In light of the recent work, Peerless <br />Resources, Inc. has revised these cross sections and included copies for <br />inclusion within the permit application. <br />4. The applicant implies that the portal complexes, office and shop <br />structures, and coal crushing and handling facilities may be left <br />• after the closure of the mine. Unless the a licant can <br />demonstrate a request that these items wil be eft by the <br />landowner or owner of the facilities, they will be required to be <br />removed for rec amation. <br />-49- <br />
