6.4.7 EXHIBIT G -Water Information
1 I. The applicant specifies on page 3 that a well permit is currently in place for the existing l l,lc operation
and will be amended for the entire project. Please indicate the status of the amended well permit that
pertains to the proposed File Pit 112. (Attached are review comments from the Office of the State
Engineer).
12. Please verify whether there are any registered groundwater wells within 600 feet of the proposed
affected land. If yes, please indicate the ownership of such wells and provide a revised mine plan map or
well location map that depicts the location of such wells.
13. The applicant specifies on page 10 that there aze no neazby wells or significant bodies of water that aze
expected to be adversely impacted by the operational de-watering, and on page 12 that the mining
operafion is not expected to directly affect surface or groundwater systems. The Division's review of this
application indicates that the proposed excavation will occur within 200 feet of a continuously flowing
irrigation canal, and excavation will occur at a depth significantly below the natural groundwater surface
for azeas of 60 acres and 6 acres in size. Therefore, the following information is needed:
chazacterize aquifer to be affected, and various aquifer characteristics, ie: transmissivity
gradient & direction of groundwater flow within & surrounding the proposed affected land
provide an estimate of the potential impact on the groundwater aquifer in the affected land &
surrounding area during mining, via cone of depression assuming a 60 acre and 6 acre unlined pond
(define horizontal and lateral extent of predicted cone of depression)
clarify whether there aze any registered groundwater wells within the predicted cone of
depression, and the impact on the groundwater surface in such wells
provide an estimate of the potential "mounding effect" on the up-gradient side of the lined
reservoirs, and the potential "shadowing effect" on the down-gradient side of the lined
reservoirs during final reclamation
mitigation measures for any adverse groundwater impacts predicted for the affected land and
surrounding azea
6.4.10 EXHIBIT J- Veeetation Information
14. The applicant specifies on page 18 that the project site is within the range of a threatened plant specied,
Ute ladies' tresses orchid, and that apresence/absence survey will be performed in late July or August.
Please indicate the status and findings of the presence/absence survey.
6.4.12 EXHIBIT L -Reclamation Costs
15. Please provide a revised reclamafion cost estimate that includes itemized costs for items requested in
Item 4 above. Also, the liner installation cost will need to be revised to account for
constmction of 1995 lineaz feet (north reservoir) and 7288 lineaz feet (south reservoir), ie: the Division will
require a 100% installation cost for lining the entire north and south reservoirs. Please provide.
