Box 302
Mancos, CO 81328
RE: Preliminary Adequacy Review, Cedar Point Pit Application
File No. M-94-108
Dear Mr. Noland:
Roy Romer
Governor
Michael B. Long
Division Dneuor
The Division has completed a preliminary adequacy review of the
above referenced permit application. The following comments should
be responded to in a timely manner such that all Division concerns
can be fully resolved prior to the scheduled decision date of
January 23. 1995.
1. APPLICATION FORM
A. Item 3.2 on page 1 of the application form needs to be
corrected to show a total of 60 permitted acres, not 307
(acreage of parcel).
B. Item 13 on page 2 of the application form needs to be
corrected to show the correct method of mining, i.e.
truckJshovel and not quarry mining as indicated. Quarry
operations differ from typical truck/shovel type aggregate
mining operations and have a different fee structure.
2. RIGHT TO ENTER
A. The Division has received correspondence from the Colorado
State Board of Land Commissioners dated January 4, 1995
indicating the a sand and gravel lease has been issued for the
proposed mine area. The Division requests that a copy of the
lease agreement be provided to the Division for inclusion in
Exhibit N of the permit application package.
3. MINE PLAN
A. The mine plan map submitted with the application needs to
be redrawn or otherwise enlarged to an acceptable map scale
1
