Soil Profile Description <br />• Mapping Unit 2VD <br />Routt loam <br />Routt soils are similar to Skylick (66) soils. They are mapped near the <br />Cochetopa (SO), Buckskin (2) and Coutis (34) soils. Skylick and Coutis <br />soils have less than 35 percent clay in the control section. Cochetopa <br />and Buckskin soils have horizons of clay accumulation at depths less <br />than 24 inches. <br />Typical pedon of Routt loam, 3 to 25 percent slopes: <br />All - 0 to 3 inches; very dark grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) loam, black <br />(lOYR 2/1) moist; weak fine granular structure; soft, friable, slightly <br />• sticky, slightly plastic; neutral; clear smooth boundary. <br />A12 - 3 to 12 inches; dark brown (lOYR 4/3) loam, very dark grayish <br />brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; weak coarse prismatic parting to weak fine <br />granular structure; soft, friable, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; <br />neutral; gradual smooth boundary. <br />A13 - 12 to 18 inches; dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) loam, very dark <br />gray (lOYR 3/1); weak coarse prismatic parting to weak fine granular <br />structure; soft, friable, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; neutral; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />.
