(h) The length of stream bank where jetty construction <br />is performed must not exceed 1000 feet as measured from the first <br />to last ,yetty constructed. <br />sss*sssss#*ssssssss*sss*#s~*#s*sss*sss##********s******ss*sssssss <br />The drawings attached to this notice provide typical examples of <br />the work authorized under this RGP. <br />ssssss*ss*s*s*sssssssssss*sssssssssssss*ssssssss**ss*ss***sssss*s <br />THIS REGIONAL GENERAL PERMIT IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING GENERAL <br />CONDITIONS: <br />]. Upon notification from the Corps of Engineers that work <br />being performed does not comply with or fall within the scope of <br />this permit, the responsible party shall take immediate steps, as <br />directed by the Corps of Engineers, to bring the work into <br />compliance with this permit. <br />2. Material may not be placed in any wetland areas or in any <br />location or manner which will impair surface water flow into or <br />oirt of any wetland area. Wetlands are areas that are inundated <br />or saturated by surface or ground water at a frequency and <br />duration sufficient to support, and under normal circumstances <br />do support, a prevalence of vegetation typically adapted for <br />life in sat.urat.ed soil conditions. Wetlands generally include <br />swamps, marshes, bogs, wet meadows, willow thickets, and similar <br />• areas. Some typical plants found in wetlands include sedges, <br />rushes, bulrushes, cattails, alders and willows. <br />3. Destruction of riparian or riverine vegetation, especially <br />mature riparian trees, shall be avoided. When work authorized by <br />this permit causes damage to riparian vegetation that is not <br />directly covered by a permanent feature, these scarred areas <br />shall be revegetated with a mixture of native trees, shrubs and <br />grasses. Seeding, sprigging or planting of native trees, shrubs <br />end grasses is highly recommended and advantageous to further <br />stabilize atreambenks. For further information on revegetation, <br />contact your local soil Conservation Service office or the Corps <br />of Engineers. <br />4. This permit does not authorize discharges of dredged or fill <br />material RSSO(:1RtPd.wlth channel straightening or cutting off of <br />meanders. <br />5. Any activii.y a~ithorized under this permit shall not <br />jeopardize a threatened or endangered species as identified under <br />the Endangered Species Act or destroy or adversely modify the <br />critical habitat of such species.
