I • 2.05.3
Run-off from one or two of the loadout conveyor footings will not be
contained in a sediment pond. Run-off from the footings will be filtered
through a sediment trap such as straw bales, silt fences or other approved
devices. Two sediment ponds will contain the run-off from the batch weigh
loadout and most of the disturbance to the east. Run-off from the remaining
portion of the disturbed area along the loadout track will not be contained in
sediment ponds. There are thirteen SAE areas where run-off will be filtered
through a sediment fence before it leaves the permit area. Sample points for
the SAEs that have sediment fences will be located near the sediment
fences. Sample points for the SAES at the culverts and ditches will be at
their respective outlets. The design for the alternative sediment control
devices are presented in Exhibit 8 pages Exh8- 187 through 189 and the
locations are shown on Map 20.
During 2002, up to twelve exploration holes will be drilled to identify the burn
line in the B-Seam. Hole locations are shown on Map 9, Hydrologic
Monitoring Location Map. The Operator is considering constructing a new
B-Seam portal in lieu of accessing the B-Seam through ramps from the D-
• Seam. An accurate location of the burn line is necessary to determine if a
new portal is feasible. The explorations holes will be drilled with a small skid
mounted drill. Hole diameters will be 6-inches or less. The average hole
depth is 350-feet with a range in depth from 80 to 510 feet. The holes will
be sealed in accordance with Rule 4.07. Run-off from the drill pads and
associated light use roads/trails will be contained by sediment ponds B & C.

During 2002, up to four exploration holes will be drilled to assess the
presence of water in the old King Mine workings (KM-1 through KM-4). Hole
locations are shown on Map 9, Hydrologic Monitoring Location Map. The
holes will be sealed in accordance with Rule 4.07. Run-off from the drill pads
will be contained by a sediment fence as described above.
MR-24 2.05 - 34 - 7/02
APPRov~l~
7~ 3/o Z
