n <br />U <br />SITe LUCATIUN ANU UESCRIPTItiN <br />The proposed site Is located approximately one (1) mile north of <br />County Road 80 west of County (toad 19 and south of the !.Sox Elder <br />Creek Drainage in Larlrner County, Colorado. More particularly, the site <br />is described as a tract of land situate in the northeast 114 of Section 16, <br />Township 10 North, Range 69 '.Pest of the Sixth f .hi., Lorimer County, <br />Colorado. <br />The area tested Iles along the south and west property Imes of tlrr. <br />site and is the top of tfu bluff which rises approximately fifty (50) feet <br />above the i3ox Elder Creek Valley to the north. Sand and gravel is <br />exposed on the side of this bluff. The top of the bluff In the area of <br />the test borings is vegetated with native grass and plants as well as <br />weeds. Generally, the site drains north toward the creek bed. The <br />east, west, and north property lines are fenced, while the south <br />boundary was staked by the L.rrirner County Engineering Department. <br />Open fields lie In all directions frog. thr: site. <br />• <br />IL ANU GROI~NUrYATEi: CUNGITIONS <br />The sVil profile at the site consists of strata of materials arranr7ed in <br />different combinations. In order of Increasiny depths, they are as <br />follows: <br />(1) Topsoil; The site is overlain by a one-half (1/2) foot thick <br />layer of silty topsoil. The topsoil has been penetrated by root <br />growth and organic matter. <br />(2) Sandy Silty Clay: I±e~reatli the topsoil is a layer of red sandy <br />silty clay that extends to depths eight (8) to twenty (20) feet <br />below [he surfacr. The clay contains varyirry amounts of silt <br />and sand in Its dry Rr damp In situ condition. <br />• <br />(3) Silty Sand and Gravel: The red silty sand and gravel <br />und~rlles Die clay laver and extends to a minimum depth of <br />-` <br />
