STABILIZATION AGREEMENT
This agreement is entered into this day of ,
1972, by and between the STATE OF COLORADO, through its Commissioner of
Mines (pursuant to Chapter 92, Article 32, Colorado Revised :statutes
1963, as amended), hereinafter referred to as "State" and Spe:cification
Aggregates, Inc., a Colorado corporation, hereinafter referred to as
"Company".
Preamble
The laws of the State of Colorado now provide for a cooperative
agreement between the State of Colorado and the owner or ope:cator of a
stone quarry. Company operates a stone quarry upon the NW/4 of Section 15,
Township 4 South, Range 70 West of the 6th P.M., Town of Golden, County
of Jefferson, Colorado, and desires to enter into an agreement pursuant
to the provisions of the law and the guidelines issued in connection
therewith. Company is engaged in extracting crystalline rocks of the
Precambrian period from the lands operated by it and this agreement will
relate to the extractive stabilization and reclamation plans of the
Company. The composition overlying the crystalline rock is a finely
divided, noncohesive silty soil which varies in depth from virtually
nothing to several feet. There is virtually no vegetation i.n this area
except a sparse growth of native grasses and a few isolated bushes. The
growth of both of which is restricted to seasonal patterns clue to atmos-
pheric conditions and by the almost total absence of ground water. The
ultimate use of this property will be construction of struc~=ures in con-
formity with the C-2 zoning currently in existence in the City of Golden.
Approximately 230 acres will be available for that use; however, only
about 180 acres of the 230 will be in the proximity of the :Wining
activities; of this 180 acres, it is estimated that only 90 to 105 acres
will be directly affected by mining.
Outline of Required Information
In connection with the proposed agreement, Company herewith outlines
the following information:
y~
