and by a "high -low level" switch inside the water tank.
The electric power lines necessary for the operation of this pump system were installed within the
permit area and their location is shown on Figure 4.2-3. No additional power lines were
necessary.
The water was to be directed underground from the water tank through the mine piping system
to the mining operations or pumped into the water thickener, which was part of the surface
facilities (see 4.3.3.4.2) for use in the surface and underground water system.
Since the entire mine hydraulic operation was to be a "closed system", and limited mine water
inflow was expected, the entire installation was to perform on an augmentation or make-up water
basis. Anticipated daily pump operating time was 10 to 12 hours per day, assuming a pumping
rate of 55 gpm.
• In general, the steel pipe was laid on the existing ground surface and aligned to avoid disturbance
to natural vegetation. Within the facilities area, the pipe was buried at a few locations to provide
road access across the pipeline. The pipeline crossed beneath County Road 335 through a
culvert. It was determined that reduction in flow by the 2-inch pipe within the culvert is not
significant with respect to the total capacity of the culvert (Exhibit 4.3-4) .
The steel pipe has been removed from the site. There was no disturbance north of County Road
335 associated with the pipeline. The pipeline corridor approximately 400 feet long and 25 feet
wide which extends north from the county road to the Colorado River, originating just east of the
mine entrance was removed from the permit boundary by technical revision no. 16.

NCIGCoaI Ridge 210.1 4-33 8115!99
