cal, and other surface and underground equipment.
• 9.3.3.2.5 Electrical Distribution Center
This facility is a fenced and locked area and houses the electrical
equipment necessary to receive and distribute the electrical power
for the operation. Electrical supply will be from the Public
Service Company of Colorado.
9.3.3.2.6 Water and Sewage Treatment
There will be two 10,000 gallon holding tanks for the collection of
grey water and septic wastes. The septic waste will be
periodically pumped by a commerical disposal contractor and
transported to an existing county-approved treatment system. The
grey water will be used to irrigate the landscaped areas during the
growing season and added to the mine water (less than .09% of total
volume) during the winter months.
9.3.3.3 water System
NCIG will require nearly 300 acre-feet annually of make-up water in
the hydraulic mining circuit, assuming a production rate of 1
million tons per year. This make-up water will be utilized to
recharge the closed water circuit when natural losses occur through
evaporation, adhesion and seepage. when operating at 1,000,000
tons per year of clean coal, approximately 9000 gpm will pass the
mine portal. This water will be carried underground in high and
low pressure pipe to the working faces where it will be utilized to
break the coal in hydraulic production stopes and to transport the
Coal to the surface in open flumes.
The amounts of water required to transport the coal will vary
depending on the size and quantity of coal produced. Once the coal
reaches the surface, the coarse coal will be separated from the
. NCIG - Coal Ridge #1 4-29 ABC/1145/910509
