Binco Series - Contd. <br />• very sticky, very plastic; common slickensides on hori- <br />zontal ped faces; common seams and streaks of lime; moder- <br />• ately alkaline; gradual smooth boundary. <br />C 36-60"---Light brownish gray (2.SY 6/2) clay, light olive brown <br />(2.SY 5/4) moist; massive structure, very hard, very firm, <br />very sticky, very plastic; calcareous, moderately alkaline. <br />Range in Characteristics: The A horizon is 2 to 8 inches thick. Soil <br />cracks are common during dry parts of the year. Rock fragments ranging <br />from 1 to 3 inches in length may occur in the C horizon. <br />A horizon has a hue of lOYR or 2.SY, value 4 through 6 dry, 3 <br />through 5 moist, and chrome of 2 through 4. B horizon has hue of lOYR or <br />2.SY, value 4 through 6 dry, 4 to 5 moist, and chrome of 2 through 4. C <br />horizon has hue of lOYR or 2.SY, value 5 through 7 dry, 4 through 6 <br />moist, and chrome of 2 thrugh 6. Reaction ranges from neutral through <br />moderately alkaline in the profile. <br />• <br />Buckskin Series (2) <br />The Buckskin series is a member of the fine, montmorillonitic family <br />of Argic Cryoborolls. <br />Typical Pedon: Buckskin loam <br />All 0- 4"---Grayish brown (lOYR 5/2) loam, very dark grayish brown <br />(lOYR 3/2) moist; weak fine granular structure; soft, very <br />friable, slightly sticky, slightly plastic; neutral; clear <br />smooth boundary. <br /> <br />• <br />
