• The Perna series is a member of the loamy-skeletal, mixed family, of
Typic Haploborolls.
Typical Pedon: Perna very cobbly loam
All 0- 5"-dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/1) very cobbly loam, very
dark grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; weak fine granular
structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic;
15 percent gravel, 30 percent cobbles; neutral; clear
smooth boundary.
A12 5-11"-dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) very cobbly loam, very
dark grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; weak medium granular
structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic;
15 percent gravel, 35 percent cobble; neutral; clear
• smooth boundary.
C1 11-30"-light yellowish brown (lOYR 6/4) extremely cobbly sandy
loam, yellowish brown (1CYR 5/4) moist; massive; soft,
