Perna Series (102) <br />• The Perna series is a member of the loamy-skeletal, mixed family, of <br />Typic Haploborolls. <br />Typical Pedon: Perna very cobbly loam <br />All 0- 5"-dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/1) very cobbly loam, very <br />dark grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; weak fine granular <br />structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; <br />15 percent gravel, 30 percent cobbles; neutral; clear <br />smooth boundary. <br />A12 5-11"-dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) very cobbly loam, very <br />dark grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; weak medium granular <br />structure; soft, very friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; <br />15 percent gravel, 35 percent cobble; neutral; clear <br />• smooth boundary. <br />C1 11-30"-light yellowish brown (lOYR 6/4) extremely cobbly sandy <br />loam, yellowish brown (1CYR 5/4) moist; massive; soft, <br />very friable, nonsticky and nonOlastic; 25 percent gravel, <br />45 percent cobble; mildly alkaline; gradual wavy boundary. <br />C2 30-60"-light yellowish brown (lOYR 6/4) extremely cobbly loamy <br />sand, yellowish brown (lOYR 5/4) moist; single grain; <br />loose, nonsticky and nonplastic; 30 percent gravel, 45 <br />percent cobble; mildly alkaline. <br />• Routt (2V) <br />. The Routt series is a member of the fine, montmorillonitic family of <br />Cryic Rachic Raleborolls. <br />
