~IIII~~I~~I~~~~III~
sss
December 16, 1980
Ms. Ann Hodgson
Brannan Send 8 Gravel
4800 Brighton Blvd.
Denver, Colorado 80216
RE: Pit 17 - 'Turkey Flats" Conversion, Pit 29
Our Files: /74-136 s /80-183, respectively
Dear Ann:
1 have reviewed the materials submitted by you, Lane Engineering Service and
Dlatchley Associates on the two above captioned operations• The maJority of
my concerns have been answered, but some remain. I will reference these below
using the letters and numbers as before.
Pit 17
Exhibits C G D
4. There was no map Included with your materials to show the 15 acres
still to be mined.
Exhibits E, F and G
4. No special reclamation features other than the bare physical outline
of the pond have been given. How deeply into the pond will topsollTng
and vegetation go? Nhy has not some amount of semi-aquatic vegetation
been planned? This cannot simply be left as a hole in the ground
down to bedrock. Slopes on the pond must be leas then 3:1.
5. Since the pond has no outlet. water will be impounded that would have
gone downstream. However, as the letter fray the Division of Meter
Resources Indicates, they do not feel that downstream users will be
affected. Mithout an outlet, reclamation as a semi-aquatic habitat
Is even more vital.
Exhibit L
Presumably, Brannan plans to rnplace the old bond with a new bond of
$49,200.00. The costs are acceptable and such a bond would also be
acceptable. Please clarify this situation.
