:x

It is understood. that the BLM has some comments and concerns regarding the proposed
reclamation plan for the surface area owned by them. It may be necessary to address the
required reclamation plan specifics in two parts. One plan specific to the surface area owned by
Richard Perkins, and one plan specific to the surface area owned by the BLM.
Maas
The Mining and Reclamation Plan Maps do not comply with the requirements of rules 6.2.112)
and 6.3.5. Please read these Rules carefully and revise the maps so they comply with all
requirements.
Public Notice
Because the public notice printed in the newspaper and sent to the adjacent landowners did not
have specific dates for commencement and completion of the mining process, and because the
publication took place before the application was designated as complete for submittal, Hand H
Stone will need to re-publish the public notice and send copies of the public notice to the
landowner and owners of adjacent surface lands that lie within 200 feet of the proposed permit
boundary. This re-notification will restart the 10-day public comment period. Please ensure the
new public notices contain specific dates proposed for commencement and completion of the
operation.
Please ensure that all revised materials, submitted in response to this adequacy review letter, are
also placed at the Clerk and Recorder's Office for public review, and that proof of receipt by the
Clerk and Recorder, is submitted to the Division.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology,
Durango Field Office, 484 Turner Drive, Building F, Suite 101, Durango, CO 81301, phone no.
970-247-5062.
Sincerely,
~~~ '~~
Steve S, Shuey
Environmental Prote tion Specialist
Cc: Charlie Higby -BLM San Juan Resource Area Office
