Lochhead <br />Exec uo.e Director <br />Michael B. Long <br />Division Dueaor <br />The division has completed a preliminary adequacy review of the H and H Quarry No. 2 permit <br />application. The following comments must be addressed in order for the application to be <br />approved. Please respond to these comments as soon as possible. Because the current decision <br />due date, set for November 2, 1998 cannot be met (due to the required republication and <br />comment periodl, H and H Stone will need to request an extension of the decision due date. <br />The extension request must be received at the Division Office by November 2, 1998, or the <br />Division will have no choice but to deny the application. <br />ADEQUACY COMMENTS <br />Mining Plan <br />a) Specific proposed dates of commencement and completion of mining must be <br />indicated. <br />j) Just to clarify; the Colorado Division of Water Resources has submitted a letter <br />indicating that this proposed operation should not affect any adjudicated water rights. <br />k) This Rule is meant to address exposure of toxic or acid producing earth materials <br />during excavation of the site. With this in mind, please address this rule again. <br />I) Please indicate how sediment control will be accomplished to prevent it from leaving <br />the site and affecting off-site areas. <br />Reclamation Plan <br />b) Please indicate the total elevation change from the proposed pit floor to the top of the <br />excavation area. Also, please indicate the maximum height and width of each bench <br />and specify how many benches of this dimension will be required for the proposed <br />final reclamation. <br />
