Missouri Basin Survey, summer 1962
Crew member on excavation of Arikara site in South Dakota.
Director was Robert Neumann.
Tikal Project, summer 1966
Worked in ceramics lab at site of Tikal in Guatemala
under direction of T.P. Culbert.
Museum of Northern Arizona, summer 1967
Worked as member of crew surveying Paria Plateau area in
northern Arizona. Director was Alexander Lindsay.
Canyon del Oro Survey, winter and spring 1968
Surveyed portion of watercourse near Tucson, Arizona
on weekends with my wife. ___ -- _
Tabun Project, summer 1968
Worked on crew excavating PQousterian levels of Tabun Cave
in Israel. Spent half of the time processing excavated
materials in lab. Director was Arthur Jelinek.
Chalchuapa Project, January - June 1969
Directed survey and test pitting portion of investigation
of the Chalchuapa site zone in E1 Salvador. The field
director of the project was Robert Sharer.
Kaminaljuyu Project, June 1969 - October 1970
Assisted Dr. Ronald Wetherington in the analysis of the
ceramics excavated during the current excavations. I
also devised a classification of vessel shapes for the
Kaminaljuyu ceramics and did the research that was the
subject of my Ph.D. thesis. During five months of that
time I acted as interim field director and supervised
thirteen lab personnel. The director of the project was
William T. Sanders.
