• <br />r• <br />SITE SMF475 <br />LOCATION NW!;SW!;SE',SE4, Sec. 5, TSn, Rglw <br />UTM: E276,775m., N4,476,68Om. <br />Zone 13 <br />The site is located on a large flat area <br />on the top of a southwest sloping ridge <br />near the western extent of the Williams <br />Fork Mountains. The site is about 2 mi. <br />south-southeast of the confluence of the <br />Yampa and the Williams Fork Rivers. <br />S1TE TYPE: Open Lithic <br />/ ~'~ <br />'~ % .1 <br />Round Bottom 7~' Quadrangle <br />DESCRIPTION <br />5MF475 is a small Lithic scatter consisting of some 20 flakes and one <br />projectile point fragment. Some of the material present is a very poor <br />grade of quartzite and is of bad quality for chipping. The site is at <br />an elevation of 7200 ft, above mean sea level. Vegetation in the vicinity <br />of the site includes sage, grasses, scrub oak, juniper and prickly pear. <br />DIAGNOSTIC ARTIFACTS <br />NONE <br />EVALUATION <br />5!•tr475 lacks potential for adding any information important to cultural <br />p~•e~:istory. It has been disturbed by a jeep trail and by sheep grazing <br />and does not appear to have any buried cultural depostis. Therefore, no <br />fur~her action is necessary. <br />• <br />
