This observation is based on the con- <br />tiguity of the site with a cultivated field, the presence of a road, a power- <br />line within the site boundaries, an oil pipeline within a few meters of the <br />site, and the site's proximity to the old State Highway 13. <br />Site 5t4F680, however, shows considerable potential for yielding.infor- <br />i. <br />l <br />motion important to prehistory and has been recommended for nomination to <br />the National Register of Historic Places. It is our recommendation that the <br />developer shall make every effort to avoid any damage to the site. The <br />Empire Energy Corporation should be advised that, with regard to site 5MF680, <br />responsibility for indirect effects such as vandalism or inadyertant damage <br />or destruction is that of the developer. Should any future development <br />endanger the site, the BLt1 Craig District Archaeologist should be notified <br />immediately. <br /> <br />
