Exhibd 60C
Subsidence Evaluation and 2004 Geolay~c Harard Field Observations
West Flatiron Lease Area
• l'hc northern part of the West Fla[iron Lease area consists of two steep ridges (containing
local nxk outcrops of sandstone, siltstone, and shale of the Barren hfember of the Mesavenie
Formation) and a stc~cp draw covered with thick colluvium, which supports thick groves of
evergreen trees and :opens (Figwt 4).
The origin of the nearly vertical linear feature. Irxated on the ridge above the draw (about the
center of image in Figure 9} is not positively identified. However, this linear I'eaturc appears
as a lineament (strong linear (eature) on the southeast side of the ridge on aerial photos, and
therefore may be a fracture or small fault.
•
Figure 9A. Enlargement of Figure 9 to show the linear
feature that begins on the ridge above the draw and ends in
the draw located in the approximate center of the image
1Ve11-vegetated landslide deposits (the uneven, hummocky ground in the bcxtom left of
Figure 9) are present in the area bare of brush. This slide area looks similar to the landslide
areas ro the west on the July, 19G3 L'.S. Geological Survey aerial photos before Highway l33
was built south of the North Fork.
•
831-032 650 W nght Water Enginoera. Inc. Page 26
Novembor2004
