' EXHIBIT C
MINING PLAN
OVERVIEW:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION: This small gravel pit is
actually part of a sawmill operation. The pit itself is quite old,
probably dating back to at least the 1960 ' s if not before. At one
time it was mined by the Colorado Division of Highways as a
material source. Much of the existing disturbance was created at
' that time . It appears that this site has supplied much of the , ?
gravel needs of the small town of Florissant for many, many years .
This operation will expand the existing disturbances to the N y
property lines and will eventually create a larger sawmill
operation which is the operator ' s primary business .
DATE OPERATION WILL COMMENCE: This operation is already in
' existence and therefore there is no commencement date .
ESTIMATED DURATION OF OPERATION: This operation, assuming past
' production is similar to future production, will last for 10 to 20
years . However , as a result of the recent surge in development
here and in Cripple Creek there is a possibility this site could 1
once again be utilized as a material source for highway improvement
' or construction. Therefore, it must be stated that if the material
is suitable for these purposes and the site is needed all of the
gravel on the site could be mined out in a period of a few months .
Therefore , the duration of this operation, depending on future
developments , could be anything from a few months to 20 years .
' COORDINATION WITH EXISTING SAWMILL BUSINESS_ Gravel produced at
this pit is sold as pit run. No processing has ever occurred by
this operator on this site . Stockpile§ are non-existent. The
gravel is made available at the base of the mining area and loaded
' directly on the truck. The primary goal in conducting the
operation is to increase the dimensions of the sawmill operation.
The marketing of this gravel is an excellent way to dispose of the
material that would need to be excavated anyway to accomplish this
end.
MATERIAL TO BE MINED: The material to be mined is gravel .
DESCRIPTION OF MATERIAL TO BE MINED: The material is weathered
Pikes Peak granite often referred to as DG (decomposed granite) .
Actually it is not decomposed but simply the high gravel content
material that--results--from the weathering of this formation. Its`lk
(depth is unknown. (The Pikes Peak Granite is part of the huge
batholith that formed Pikes Peak located some distance to the east
of this location. The age of the rock is approximately 1 . 1 billion
years . There are no known formations under this formation.
' 1
