• -78-
MR. MASSE Y: We'll also just state for the record we intend to comply
with Title III. No question about it.
MR. JOUFLAS: Yeah. Okay.
MR. BARRY: Prax, I just want to be -- I want to be clear with you --
that -- cause I want to make sure I understand your position and your
authority, which is, as I believe it, within a certain time of having
hazardous materials on site these people must respond to a letter like this.
I advise them to respond much earlier, but I want to make sure that I
understand your authority.
MR. ORTEGA: Yeah. I guess what has me worried is they said that all
them toxic barrels, etc., right there, just across (INAUDIBLE). This
container's hazardous when empty and they're in downtown San Luis now. These
• hazardous waste barrels are ending up downtown, and I could -- we could go get
the Sheriff and go pick 'em up right now, But, I didn't want to taring this
type of thing up, but Jerry -- Gary's over here saying something that I didn't
say. MY real concern is the fact that that hazardous waste is already
downtown.(inaudible conversation)
MR. BARRY: I guess I -- for the -- I may be in different shape than
everybody else on this Board, but I don't know anything about any current
hazardous waste downtown. I don't --
MR. JOUFLAS: No. I don't know either.
MR. COHEN: Maybe that's really what the question is. Has amy of the
material been used in the exploratory phase or the sample leaching or any of
the operations that have been going on so far? If it has, then I think you
have an issue here.
. MR. MASSE Y: We'll be happy to respond to that as soon as the question is
finished.
