+ ~ Mr. John C. Dav •
June 21, 1982
Page 2
5. I have informed Mr. Goemmer that our Act requires that
his operation be bonded, and I plan Co recommend the
maximum amount of financial warranty for a limited
impact operation. This is $5,000.00.
6. Visual screening of a mining operation is not covered
under our Rules and Regulations. I have, however,
reminded the operator that our Act requires that,
whenever possible, reclamation should be concurrent
with mining to minimize surface disturbance.
At this point, this permit application is scheduled for this
[dednesday afternoon, June 23rd. However, I have asked some rather
extensive questions about the application in my review letter which
have, to date, not been answered. I feel that it is likely, therefore,
that Mr. Goemmer will request that this matter be continued by our
Board until the July 21-22 Board meeting. I suggest, however, that
you contact me later in the week to clarify the status of the permit
application.
Sincerely,
gee,
Mark S. Loye
Senior Reclamation Specialist
vt
P.S. I met with Mr. and Mrs. Goemmer this morning in my office and
they have supplied me with further information that satisfied
my various concerns. Therefore, our Board will consider this
application tomorrow afternoon, some time after 1:30 p.m.
~. ~j_ ~°
w
