Once the spilled material is in a pond, Snowmass
Coal Company will pump this material to one of our zero discharge preparation
plant settling ponds. Because Snowmass Coal Company utilizes diesel as a flo-
tation chemical in the coal cleaning process, the spilled diesel will then be
pumped through and used in the preparation plant.
If the spill proves to be too large for Snowmass Coal Company to adequately
cleanup, the following two companies have indicated that they could send equip-
ment and personnel out to the mine to cleanup any spill.
