The final grade will slope to the south and will discharge the surface
water into our drainage area.
Future Conditions(Easterly Section)

The new•mining~will depress this-area approximately 45 -f t. in places.
The final grade will slope to the south with opportunity to drain off of
the property by using the arroyas to the east. The last or lowest area
to be drained will be across the south property line and/or just north of
the southeast property corner.
r.,.,,-t ~~~ t.,.,
Using contour maps submitted in the permit request Exhibit "F", we
find that mining operation will increase the surface ~•iater discharge in
excess of 25a which is objectionable to the City.
Besides the increased runoff characteristics caused by constant slope
grading and de-vegetating, we will experience additional runoff because
3 retention reservoirs and six contour ditch dikes have been removed which
previously held the runoff and/or diverted it to a water shed to the west
which used the runoff in irrigation ditches by Christian Brothers Ranch.
We believe sumps or retention ponds should be built to retain the
surface waters and allow only the original flow or better yet, retain the
water 100.°6 and allow dissipation by seepage or evaporation either of which
could be an advantage or asset to both Brocerick & Gibbons and the City.
The third party, Christian Brothers Ranch, might be concerned about losing
some of the surface water that they now use for irrigation.
-3-
