Section 780.21 (b) Continued.
•
n
plan area is 9,231.4 acre-feet. This is based on measurements
taken at a stream gaging station operated by the Water Resources
Division of the U.S. Geological Survey from 1956 to 1973 at their
Station No. 09244100 located in Section 11, Township 4, North,
Range 87 West. This station is shown on the Twentymile Park
Hydrology (Map 6). The 1978 water year discharge for Foidel Creek
near the mouth was 1650 acre-feet. This is based on measurements
taken at a stream gaging station operated by the Tdater Resources
Division of the U.S. Geological Survey at their Station No.
09243900 located in Section 13, Township 5 North, Range 86 West.
This station is shown on the Twentymile Park Hydrology (Map 6).
The annual discharge for the 1978 water year on Middle Creek near
its mouth was 1434.2 acre-feet. This is based on measurements
taken by the U.S.G.S. at their Station No. 09243700 located in
Section 13, Township 5 North, Range 86 West. This station is shown
on the Twentymile Park Hydrology (Map 6). Comparison of these data
demonstrates that the gross impact of sedimentation pond water
retention decreases the total discharge of Fish Creek by 0.18
percent, decreases the total discharge of Puddle Creek by 0.26
percent, and the total discharge of Foidel Creek by 2.20 percent.
In addition to the fact that these percentages are low, potential
impact is further lessened due to the fact that sedimentation ponds
will fill in the spring during high runoff when there is no problem
with water availability for any purpose.
Three existing ponds with decreed water rights will be removed by
mining within the Eckman Park area only. Each pond is located
on the Twentymile Park Hydrology (Map 6) and are described as follows:
~\
Pond Name
Location
Storage Volume
(acre-feet)
Eckman Park
Reservoir No. 3
NW 1J4, NW 1J4
Section 17
T4N, R86W
780-161
23.96
