Section 780.18 (b) Continued. <br />casing or piezometers at a sufficient height above land surface to <br />prevent drainage of surface water or entrance of other material <br />into the well and will be fitted with caps to prevent the intro- <br />duction of foreign objects, other than monitoring and sampling <br />equipment, into the well. When ground water monitoring wells are <br />no longer needed or required for any purpose, each well will be <br />eliminated in accordance with the methods described above. <br />Water and Air Quality Control Techniques <br />Steps to be taken to comply with the Clean Water Act and other <br />applicable water quality laws and regulations and health and <br />safety standards include a comprehensive drainage and sediment <br />control plan described in Sections 780.21, 780.25, and 816.41- <br />816.57. With respect to compliance with the Clean Water Act, <br />Energy Fuels will comply with the requirements of discharge permit <br />• no. CO-0027154, issued by the Colorado State Department of Health <br />under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). <br />Compliance with this permit serves to effect compliance with the <br />Clean idater Act and the Colorado Water Quality Control Act. A copy <br />of this permit is presented in Exhibit 17, NPDES Permit. <br />Energy Fuels presently operates under numerous air quality emission <br />permits issued by the Colorado Department of Health. Likewise, <br />fugitive dust control measures are constantly employed as an integral <br />part of the mining and reclamation operations. Compliance with <br />these permits will serve to effect compliance with the Clean Air <br />Act and the Colorado Air Pollution Control Act. Air pollution <br />control measures are discussed in detail in Section 780.15 and <br />Section 816.95. <br />• <br />780-143 <br />
