R.C. CAtdPBELL
Gentlemen:
SUBJECT: Your letter in regard to additional information for our application
of our North Farm Road Pit Nl, File K77-140.
Replies to your questions are as follows:
This pit is in the NEw of the SW4 of Section 20, Township 39N>
Range SE, N.M.P.M.
2. The only other vegetation besides irrigated alfalfa is a small
pasture on the north side of the 40-acre tract. This pasture
consists of rabbit brush, rushes and sages, and wild foxtail
grass.
3• This has been corrected on our copy to read the same as No. 1
above which is correct. This is a typing error done by someone,
evidently not familiar with legal descriptions.
4. Please see the enclosed Soil Conservation Service letter dated
March 9, 1979 indicating how establishing protective grasses on
slopes around reservoirs and pits has been proven ineffective.
There has been little or no bloat problem because the cattle are
not allowed on the stubble until the feed has been well frozen
down and the bloat danger is over, The cattle are fed the dry
hay after it has been cut, baled, and cured in a stack.
OUR 50TH YEAR OF
SERVING SAN 1U15 VALLEY CONSTRUCTION
